East Kirkland Farm is situated on the edge of the Solway Firth overlooking Wigtown Bay and the magnificent Galloway Hills.
Here at Courtyard Cottages, we offer 5 well equipped self catering cottages arranged around a pretty courtyard. Only a ten minute stroll along a single track road to the town of Wigtown- proud to call itself Scotland’s National Booktown with its numerous 2nd hand book shops, cafes, restaurants and a selection of craft/antique shops for you to enjoy.
Additional facilities include indoor heated swimming pool, games barn with basketball hoop, tennis, badminton, bowls, swings and trampoline, drying room, laundry room with dryer and recycling area.
Within a short distance of the cottages you'll find world famous literary, food and music festivals, stunning hillwalking and mountain biking in the Galloway Hills and Galloway Forest Park and some of the best scenery and wildlife in Scotland.
The cottages are a short drive away from two of the world class 7 Stanes mountain bike trails at Kirroughree (15mins) and Glentrool (20mins).
Discover picturesque forest trails, world class mountain biking, visitor centres, stunning wildlife and a long and colourful history spread over 299sq miles. Galloway Forest Park attracts around 800,000 visitors per year and is a highlight of any visit to the Wigtownshire region of Dumfries & Galloway.
Founded in 1999, the 10-day Wigtown Book Festival is now one of the UK's best-loved literary events and this year has more than 200 events and activities for all ages, including music, theatre, food and visual arts.
